Fourth Church has been planning a fall hymn sing to learn some of the new tunes in the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement and intended to invite all the area CS churches. With all the recent storm events, we were holding off on the announcement about it, but recently found out that two officers from The Mother Church will be joining us!
Clerk Suzanne Riedel and Treasurer Lyon Osborn will be at our hymn sing on October 14th. They want to show solidarity, provide support and encouragement, and send love from the entire Board of Directors.
The hymn sing will start at 10:30 a.m. in our auditorium and last about 1-1/2 hours. Our soloist Lauren Pastorek and pianist Jessica Myers will accompany us — with special performances interspersed as well. Then Fourth Church will provide lunch and fellowship in the Sunday School.
We can’t wait to have our Christian Science friends together on this uplifting day!
Please plan to attend a special presentation to help Christian Scientists make thoughtful decisions regarding health care.
Attorney Michael Holmes will provide practical information on essential legal documents relating to estate and care planning for you and your family. All students of Christian Science are welcome, especially Christian Science branch church members and those caring for Christian Scientists.
The meeting is sponsored by the Houston Visiting Christian Science Nurse Service and childcare will be provided upon request. Please call 713-304-8384.

The kind of news that makes a difference
Sources of good news can be hard to find these days. Reading the headlines might make us want to curl up with cute animal videos online to cope! So where can we turn for the news that doesn’t shy away from problems, but lifts our view to help us make permanent progress?
“What we’re looking for,” says practitioner of Christian Science healing, Patricia Woodard, “is a view that uplifts our thoughts, changing our perspective to one that makes a difference for the better, that heals.
