An article was published on the Christian Science Monitor website today under A Christian Science Perspective titled, An illuminating lesson:
Lying on my dresser is a stickpin, a decorative pin used to hold a tie or scarf in place, and I’m not putting it away yet because it’s a reminder of a surprising and illuminating lesson.
One day on arriving home, I found that the cap that holds the stickpin in place on my clothing was gone. I searched the car and surroundings and the house, but didn’t find it. I made a note to stop at the jeweler’s someday and get a new cap.
A couple of weeks later, as I was waiting at a stoplight while driving home from an errand, it came to me that my waiting time would be well used in doing what the Apostle Paul urges – “bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” which I took to mean bringing my thought into accord with the biblical teachings and illustrations of divine reality learned through my study of Christian Science (II Corinthians 10:5)…
