]]> Finding Trust in a Changing WorldIs there anything that we can truly rely on? Finding a spiritual basis of trust enables us to turn to a divine presence whenever we need it. The love, goodness, and intelligence of God never change and are always available. The more we discover of God’s love and care for us, the more we can confidently turn to this divine presence and find our lives transformed and healed–and our families, communities, and the whole world benefit, too. Anyone can learn how to lean into God’s trustworthiness.

Join us for this inspiring talk given by Christian Science practitioner Lesley Ruth Pitts, C.S.  Lesley is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

Join us for a scavenger hunt through the streets of Austin – teams will jump in a car (driven by an adult chaperone), work together to decipher clues and follow leads that will take you to different sites in the city. The weekend will include games, an inspirational speaker, all-day road rally with photo ops, meeting new friends, hang time and Sunday School.

WHO: 7th-12th grade Christian Scientists and your friends of all faiths

WHEN:
Arrive on Friday, September 28 at 7:00pm, after dinner
Depart on Sunday, September 30 at 1:00pm (from 1st Church of Christ, Scientist – Austin)

WHERE:
Drop off at Hostelling International – Austin
2200 South Lakeshore Blvd
Austin, TX  78741

Pick up at 1st Church of Christ, Scientist – Austin
1309 Guadalupe St
Austin, TX  78701

TRANSPORTATION:
Teens are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event, unless flying.

  • If flying
    Arrival: Friday, September 28: Fly into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) between 3:00-5:00 pm Central Time
    Departure: Sunday, September 30: Leave Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) after 4:00 pm Central Time
    A shuttle will be provided to and from the airport.
  • If driving
    Arrival: Friday, September 28: Arrive at Hostelling International – Austin at 7:00 pm (be sure to eat dinner before you arrive)
    Departure: Sunday, September 30: From 1st Church of Christ, Scientist – Austin at 1:00 pm


COST:
$80 – 7th – 12th graders and your friends
$10 Discount – Bring a friend new to DB and you both receive $10 off!

TEEN FINANCIAL AID:
Please don’t let the cost keep you from attending. If you need to apply for financial aid, you will have the opportunity to do so during your registration. Financial awards can be up to 1/2 of the registration fee and additional aid is available for those flying to the event, up to $150. If there is additional aid needed to attend the weekend, please contact us – we do not want finances to prevent you from attending.

If the financial aid amount you’ve been granted does not meet your financial needs for this event and you choose to cancel your registration, you need to notify DiscoveryBound Outreach within 48 hours of being notified of the amount granted. If cancelling, you will be refunded your deposit with the exception of a $20 cancellation fee. After the 48 hours, if you need to cancel for any reason, you will need to return any financial aid amount you received towards travel costs.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS:
Refunds, less a $40 cancellation fee, will be given to participants cancelling by August 31, 2018. No refunds will be given after August 31.
