Josh is a Christian Science Practitioner and Teacher.\u00a0 He\u00a0will talk about how harmony is actually a constant and consistent law of God and how Mary Baker Eddy\u2019s discovery of these divine laws, which have been in operation throughout all time, can be brought to bear in any circumstance through holy inspired prayer. Christ Jesus mapped the way for all mankind to better understand God and feel His undiminished love, which leads to harmony and healing. Josh will share examples of healing through Christian Science from his own life to help illustrate that everyone can experience the kind of harmony and healing that Jesus pointed to\u00a0 in his ministry.

She has written for the Christian Science periodicals and served in almost every capacity as a branch church member. Currently, Chris serves as Chairman of the Tenacre Board of Trustees; she is also a member of the Principle Foundation’s Board of Directors. Chris has given numerous inspirational talks, taught Bible classes, addressed Christian Science Associations, and facilitated workshops on a variety of subjects for Christian Science nursing organizations, camps, schools, and branch churches. Peace Haven’s Trustees and staff are delighted to welcome her as the Keynote Speaker for our 2018 Annual Meeting.

This morning Myriam Betouche published an article on the Christian Science Monitor website discussing the spiritual basis for valuing ourselves and each other while thriving together. Inspired by her country, she goes on to state:
In the wake of France\u2019s celebration as two-time champion of the soccer World Cup (1998 and 2018), many are surfing on a wave of optimism that the momentum of hope and pride might help heal economic and social fractures, especially among French youth.
\nRecent TV coverage highlighted the intelligent, mature, and successful nature of the racially diverse team, despite its youth. One of the key players shared with the reporter what animated him: \u201cI feel pride inside.\u201d
\nThis contrasts strikingly with the feeling that has been expressed by many disillusioned young people, that they don\u2019t really \u201cbelong.\u201d But I believe all of us are valuable, throughout all times and despite the distinct geography of our origins, and we can realize this by considering a more universal and spiritual sense of our identity.
\nChristian Science\u00a0discoverer\u00a0Mary Baker Eddy, who founded The Christian Science Monitor with the object \u201cto injure no man, but to bless all mankind,\u201d wrote in her revolutionary book \u201cScience and Health with Key to the Scriptures\u201d: \u201cIn Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being\u201d (p. 63).
\nTo identify one\u2019s true source as Spirit (another name for the one God) equips us to see and value within ourselves (and others) the \u201cbeautiful, good, and pure\u201d qualities that are natural in each of us. At the same time this enables us to reject their opposites, such as hatred or anger, and to better contribute to our communities in ways that promote unity and harmony, even amid diversity. This instinctive ability comes to the seeking heart in all climes and of all the various races that might coexist in a country.
