Each church of Christ, Scientist will be offering a service, either in their church building, online, or by telephone.

How to find a Church near You:

Below are a few highlights of the Thanksgiving service (No offering is required)

  • Music and hymn singing.
  • A reading of the Thanksgiving Day Proclamation 2020.
  • A Thanksgiving Bible Lesson from our pastor (the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy).
  • Testimonies/sharing of gratitude from attendees appropriate for the occasion.

Local native, Jeff Tinkham, shares his healing of substance abuse and panic attacks. Jeff was raised in Christian Science, but at the age of 13 began getting involved in drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.  Over the years, he tried several times, on different occasions, to quit but with no success. One night, in 1991, he came to a crossroad and found his way back to the arms of divine Love, God. A few years ago I awakened shortly after midnight with severe pain in the lower portion of my body. For some time I prayed, acknowledging God’s allness and man’s perfection as His likeness, but without relief. I finally felt I could not stand the discomfort much longer, and I silently cried out, “Dear God, why don’t I get any relief? I’ve been relying on Truth.”
